Hi! I hope you can take part in my reader survey this year. It's a quick and easy one, and won't take you much time at all.
This year, I'd like you to send a list of the following items to mprindle@nyc.rr.com:
A. Your 7 Favorite Albums Of All Time -- Studio, live, greatest hits records, box sets, EPs, singles, various artist compilations and movie soundtracks are all fair game.
B. Your 7 Favorite Albums Released Between 2000-2009 -- NOTE: Any albums from this time period that you listed in section A must also be included here. I'm curious whether any albums from the past decade are already considered "all-time classics."
C. Your 7 Favorite Artists/Bands of All Time
FORMATTING! VERY IMPORTANT! (FOR ME PERSONALLY)
Please submit your lists using this formatting, so that I will be able to sort them into the larger lists correctly:
1. Please do not number your individual album/artist choices.
2. If the band name starts with "The," please drop the "The."
3. If it's an artist's name, please put his/her last name first
4. If it's a band name that includes an artist's name, dump the band name and just list the artist
Here's an example of how I'd like the lists to look:
ALL-TIME
Charged G.B.H. - City Baby Attacked By Rats
John, Elton - Playing The Dick Piano
Dirty Rotten Imbeciles - Dirty Rotten LP
Mellencamp, John - I'm Old
OST - Grease

Seger, Bob - I Recorded This Album With The Silver Bullet Band, But Mark Prindle Doesn't Want You To Include Them In My Name. Thanks.

TWO FINAL PLEAS:
I am not looking for a list of 'influential albums' or 'innovative bands' -- I'm looking for a list of YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITES. As such, if you respect the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds but would actually rather listen to "Weird Al" Yankovic, screw Pet Sounds and write down Poodle Hat!
Finally, do not feel compelled to put albums by your favorite artists on the "favorite albums" lists. For example, The Fall would definitely go on my 'ARTISTS' list, but I'm not sure they've ever released a single album I love from beginning to end, so I'd leave them off the other two lists. I ask the same of you!
And that should do it. Please submit your list to mprindle@nyc.rr.com no later than Monday, February 1, 2010. Then I'll sort, collate and post the results.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
